The Audio-Technica AT-ART9XI is a premium Dual Moving Coil (MC) stereo phono cartridge engineered for highly detailed, dynamic, and accurate vinyl playback. As part of Audio-Technica’s ART series, it combines a precision-engineered magnetic circuit with advanced stylus and cantilever technology to reproduce subtle musical details while maintaining excellent stereo separation and a wide frequency response.
The cartridge features a Nude Special Line Contact stylus with a 1.5 × 0.28 mil curvature profile mounted on a 0.28 mm solid boron cantilever. This combination is designed to provide precise contact with the record groove and accurate tracking of fine musical information. The AT-ART9XI offers a wide 20–50,000 Hz frequency response, 0.5 mV output voltage, and 30 dB channel separation for detailed and well-defined stereo reproduction.
Its advanced Dual Moving Coil system uses two coils arranged in an inverted-V configuration, supporting high channel separation and wide-range audio reproduction. A specially designed magnetic circuit incorporating a neodymium magnet and permendur yoke helps concentrate magnetic energy around the generator coils, supporting the cartridge’s low 0.5 mV output and dynamic analog performance.
The AT-ART9XI features a hybrid cartridge body combining machined aluminum and highly rigid plastic to help reduce unwanted resonance. Its threaded M2.6 mounting holes allow secure installation using two screws without requiring separate nuts, making installation convenient on compatible headshells and tonearms.
With a recommended tracking force of 1.8 g within a 1.6–2.0 g range and a recommended load impedance of 100 ohms or higher when used with a suitable head amplifier, the AT-ART9XI is designed for MC-compatible phono stages and high-quality analog audio systems. At approximately 8.5 g, it offers a refined combination of precision construction, advanced cartridge technology, and premium vinyl playback performance.
